Correct terms are 'tudung' and 'songkok'.

I often see a bunch of Malay men in songkok deep in a Tiger Beer togok-ing session at the coffeeshop near my place.

And while working at 7 Eleven while awaiting enlistment, I've come across Malay men buying Wanbao just for the sake of checking out the Toto/4D results.

Go figure.

depends on the individual. i've muslim friends who frequent non-halal outlets - just as long as they don't consume pork, it's ok - their rationale. i don't have a strong view on this.

lasik will correct your astigma, short sightedness .. but lao hua .. cannot be corrected ..

when I was in pattaya bout a year after 9-11, when the afghanistan war was in full swing ... someone brought me to this underground dive there ......

it was during cobra gold R&R, so the town was full of US marines ....

it was an interesting sort of place, hordes of arab men smoking sheeshas and drinking heineken by the bucket full .... side by side along young crew-cut marines from some wyoming farm, looking for that promised tail their recruiters must have promised them ... everyone with local bar girls draped around their arms .....

i corrected my astigma and short sightedness ..

but i don't have lao hua yet ..

Consult a doctor .. I think even if they can correct lao hua also not much use because it'll come back again .. long sightedness is caused by muscles degeneration due to aging ..

I don't have a problem with anyone eating pork or drinking, or choosing not to ... it's everyone's personal choice ....

but what really disgusts me is when people get hypocritical about it ....

There's this Iraqi fellow I know back in the uni, grad student, "refugee" of course, every day he'd rant about how evil the US is, how decadent and morally corrupt they are, yadda yadda ... and no thanks, he doesn't drink either .....

but everyone knows he's sports-bonking this japanese exchange student ... and yes, he doesn't drink ...... beer that is ..... he nails the hard stuff ..... wild turkey bourbon for this fellow ...

and when saddam was caught, he went wild and cheering ... for one day, the americans were heros ..... the next day, same old shit again ....

no one at the student hovel bothered with him after a while ....

how much did it cost you? where did you do it? am thinking about doing it but worried about the risks.
